Our Solana Beach location is seeking a full time Store Manager candidate to join our team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Train, coach, and incentivize store employees to provide exceptional customer service, develop customer relationships and actively sell to customers on the sales floor. Delegate store functions as needed to allow for employee growth and effective distribution of key store responsibilities.
· Drive the business to achieve challenging financial goals, with understanding of key metrics like margin, AOV, UPT, revenue and gross profit
· Analyze financial reports to identify and address trends and issues in store performance, report out on financial results and achievements towards goals, respond proactively to trends in underperformance
· Control costs through effective employee scheduling, awareness of supply spending and effective loss prevention initiatives.
· Oversee store inventory to ensure appropriate in-stock levels while controlling overstock and ensuring high turn levels; manage price changes and markdowns.
· Create and implement processes that allow for easy reporting and accuracy of inventory unit and cash value, with emphasis on ability to partner with accounting at the end of every month to reconcile as needed.
· Manage visual merchandising standards to ensure a remarkable, high end look and feel for our customers: clean, organized, well-stocked, with inspiring displays, and routine resets that are reflective of seasonal trends.
· Exhibit a positive, can-do, customer-first attitude with a calm, confident demeanor, especially during periods of high volume or unusual events
· Maintain store facilities and systems to a safe, clean, and efficient standard, including routine cleaning and maintenance
· Ensure all relevant local, state and federal labor laws and standards are upheld
· Resolve customer service issues using compassion and solid judgement; elevate concerns as needed
· Solicit customer feedback to understand customer needs and the needs of the local community
· Plan and execute store marketing to build excitement, drive traffic, and boost sales revenue. Partner with CRM team to effectively communicate seasonal products and sales to loyal customers via email.
· Identify and prioritize communication and use discretion to filter communications to the store team; communicate clearly, concisely and accurately in order to ensure effective store operations.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Lead a team of full time and part time store associates
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
· Minimum of 5 years retail management experience required
· High school diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
· Proficient in Shopify, Stocky and relevant apps, Excel, and familiarity with accounting systems.
· Sophisticated communication skills, both written and verbal
· Strong time management and organizational skills
· Dog and cat product knowledge preferred
· Confident, calm demeanor with a high tolerance for busy, sometimes intense situations
· Exemplary sales and customer service skills and experience
· Proven coaching skills
· Comfortable working independently as well as in a group
· Accomplished project management and analytic skills
