JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Penn State General Stores is searching for a full time Stock Delivery Clerk to join their team. Duties include:

  • Inspect orders to ensure proper count, type of item and address; load order such as gas cylinders and other materials, supplies and equipment, etc., on truck for delivery
  • Operate truck in a safe manner, transport and unload orders of gases and other materials, supplies and equipment to other departments or offices as designated on requisition
  • Maintain legible records as required
  • Pick up materials to be returned to General Store
  • Obtain signature for receipt of merchandise and return signed copies to General Store Office
  • Wash and clean truck as required; make proper daily checks for fuel and lubrication and routine truck care
  • Refer need of services or major repairs to supervisor
  • Occasionally direct other workers in the performance of the job, such as unloading orders, etc.
  • Assist in taking annual and periodic inventories
  • Perform duties of Storeroom Clerk – Stock Selector, as required
  • Assemble storage cabinets, costumers, desks, tables and other items
  • Inspect shipments for damage and report damage to supervisor
  • Operate forklift to unload and move heavy pieces of material in a safe manner
  • Answer telephone; provide information or refer
  • Maintain work area in a clean, orderly and safe condition
  • Perform other duties related or similar to the type described above

Job Requirements: Requires the use of commercial English, grammar and arithmetic such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, including decimals and fractions; simple use of formulas, charts, tables, drawings, specifications, schedules, wiring diagrams, together with the use of adjustable measuring instruments, graduates and the like requiring interpretation in their various applications; or the posting, preparation, interpretation, use and checking of reports, forms, records and comparable data. A Pennsylvania Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), plus hazardous materials and air-brakes endorsements required. 6 to 9 months of effective experience with some driving experience included.

NOTE: THIS POSITION REQUIRES THAT YOU OPERATE A MOTOR VEHICLE AS PART OF YOUR JOB DUTIES. A VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE AND SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF A MOTOR VEHICLE RECORDS CHECK WILL BE REQUIRED IN ADDITION TO STANDARD BACKGROUND CHECKS. NOTE: THIS POSITION IS SUBJECT TO FEDERAL DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TESTING FOR ALCOHOL AND CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES (49 CFR PART 40), AND PHYSICAL EXAMINATION REQUIREMENTS AS PER 67 PA. CODE 231.85.

Work Schedule: 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

Days Off: Saturday, Sunday

This position is part of the bargaining unit represented by Teamsters Local Union No. 8 and has a starting hourly wage of $20.42.
