Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement high-quality STEM programs, including but not limited to 3-D printing, robotics, coding, science experiments, digital programs, etc.
• Plan and implement additional education enrichment activities
• Program plans should incorporate the 5 Key Elements, follow member program schedules, and meet the overall goals of the organization
• Engage with select groups of youth (K-12th grade) members every week
• Utilize techniques to gain control of the program group and ensure members are fully engaged
• Communicate clear and straightforward instructions to members before each program and activity to ensure that members understand rules, expectations, and directions
• Provide positive feedback, encouragement, and recognition for members to highlight achievements
• Track and report attendance, grades, test scores, and STEM program data
• Visit up to two (2) school locations per day during the week (with gas stipend)
• Review needs of students with program staff and refer families to services (i.e., tutoring) as needed
• Coordinate outside groups to come in and help implement programs at least twice a quarter and ensure a value-added experience for all
• Work closely with Youth Development Assistants and volunteers during site hours
• Transport and escort members on educational field trips
• Complete organization, STEM, and Education training as needed
• Meet regularly with supervisor: Director of Education
• Support regular on-site staff as needed
• Become a 12-passenger van certified to provide member transportation when needed
• Maintain efficient and professional communication with community partners, stakeholders, Boys & Girls Club staff, parents, and members

Experience:

• At least one year of youth development or youth mentoring experience
• At least one year of experience leading STEM programs

Education:

• High school diploma required
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Students studying Education, Technology, Math, or Engineering encouraged to apply
