Summary

The person in this Hybrid or Remote role will report to the Sr. Director of Marketing and Publicity. Responsibilities include supporting outreach to public media programmers and communication teams regarding upcoming programming and strategic initiatives, providing broadcast and carriage reporting on a per film and catalog basis, delivering quarterly reports on the state of public media, and representing the award-winning series Independent Lens within the public media system. Contract length estimated at 8 to 12 months.

  • Concept and execute annual station relations strategy that aligns and supports ITVS institutional priorities
  • Develop and deliver monthly external station messaging on ITVS’ content, including Independent Lens, ITVS-funded films, digital offerings, thematic campaigns, and engagement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with ITVS station communications team to provide enthusiastic and exceptional customer service, anticipating partner needs, handling inquiries, and resolving issues
  • Maintain timely and accurate communications to the ITVS Audience Development team on new system-wide initiatives, MVOD/AVOD strategies, scheduling changes, key personnel shifts, and opportunities in DEIB.
  • Develop and deliver thoughtful responses to crises and opportunities, adjusting priorities as needed; anticipate and address critical feedback from stations.
  • Represent ITVS at 1-2 key external-facing events (ex: PBS Annual Meeting, Public Television Programming Association [PTPA], Indies Summit)
  • Identify key markets and support panelists and participant sourcing for ITVS-led convenings.
