Job Summary:

Achieves staffing objectives for Iris Park Commons by maintaining bi-weekly staff schedules.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage staff time-off requests and shift swaps.
  • During business hours (Monday - Friday, 8am-4:30pm), find coverage for open shifts.
  • Answer employee inquiries regarding scheduling, managing availability changes as they arise.
  • Assist employees with accurate completion of forms pertinent to scheduling and staffing.
  • Maintain daily tardy and absenteeism calendars; assist in record keeping for employee performance reviews.
  • Create and post bi-weekly staff schedules in OnShift.
  • Review bi-weekly timecards in Paychex for accuracy, making necessary changes from time adjustment slips, following up with staff when there are errors or missed punches, inputting pick-up and on-call bonuses, and approving time cards when complete.
  • Meet with new-hire to complete HR paperwork, arrange training schedule, assign schedule rotation, and setup in time clock, OnShift and Eldermark.
  • Collaborate with Staff Development to schedule new-hire Competency Testing for caregivers, as well as Episcopal Homes Orientation.
  • Hold corrective action meetings for employees with attendance concerns, working them through the disciplinary process, including termination when needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent employee information.
  • Work with Director of Nursing and HR when scheduling modified work duty employees in accordance with work restrictions and facility policy.
  • Monitor caregiver Relias continuing education compliance.
  • File Personnel Action Forms with HR for terminations, transfers, status changes and rate changes.
  • Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. Majority of the work would be seated (80%).

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Full-time, non-exempt. On call for Staffing every other weekend.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
  • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents.
  • Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
