2. Guide students through the engineering design process for technical
deliverables related to the development of an autonomous vehicle.
3. Tracking progress with respect to team and competition deliverables
4. Working with students to improve oral and written communication skills and improving team effectiveness.
5. Work with faculty advisors and graduate students working on the competition
to set team goals, tasking, and resolving relevant technical issues.
6. Travel with a group of 3 to 15 students to bi-annual training events and competition each year in June.
7. Manage team social media accounts, generate, solicit, and moderate content.
8. Attend team meeting and student team meetings outside of work hours
9. Apply safety-related knowledge, skills, and practices to everyday work.
- Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, mathematics, scientific and technical communication, or a related discipline
- 2-4 years of work experience in science, engineering, mathematics, scientific and technical communication, a related discipline, or 1 year with an MS, 0 with PhD.
- A bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science
- Demonstrated experience working with college students in an extracurricular or classroom environment.
- MS with two years of experience
- MS or PhD in topical areas related to autonomous vehicles
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- A desire to work closely with college-age STEM students in areas such as developing leadership skills and conflict resolution
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cultural boundaries and work harmoniously with diverse groups of students, faculty, and staff.
