Staff Accountant

Commercial HVAC material supplier in Atlanta, GA has an immediate opening for an estimator for a Staff Accountant for our Accounting Group. Our goal is to effectively promote sales of HVAC equipment in the commercial construction market and to deliver unparalleled service to our customers.

Hands-on training provided

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Financial Reporting - work directly with the CFO and Controller in preparing financial reports (e.g., balance sheets, income statements, monthly closing reports) according to Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures (GAAP) and other regulatory requirements. Assist with monthly and annual closing procedures
• Accounts Receivable - Perform customer cash postings, A/R Adjustments, refunds, discounts, etc. and the reconciliation of the A/R balance. Accumulate cash activity and perform bank reconciliations
• Regular filings Assist in the completion of monthly sales tax return filings, as well as organization of sales tax exemption certificates. Assist in annual property and gross receipts tax filings for multiple branch locations
• Audits - Interact with external auditors as necessary to complete corporate and tax audits
• Payroll - Assist in the calculations or variable pay structures for various personnel
• Budgeting Participate in the annual budgeting process for each of the company divisions
• Requests Responding to internal requests from company branches regarding accounting inquiries and needs

Education and Requirements

• Bachelors degree (B.A.) in Accounting from a four-year college or university
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly EXCEL
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
