Job Summary: We are searching for a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to focus on a variety of responsibilities within the accounting department. HouseWorks is a rapidly growing home healthcare company, expanding through acquisitions across the Northeast. This position will support accounts payable, accounts receivable and general accounting functions and would report directly to the Accounting Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Accounts receivable payment posting
  • Accounts payable credit card transaction posting and reconciliation
  • Admin staff travel & entertainment report creation and follow up with submissions
  • Enter invoice credit memos and update tracker
  • Apply or return client deposits at end of service and track inactive clients with deposits on file
  • Weekly 401k reconciliation
  • Mobile deposits of checks receivable
  • Monthly third-party collaboration fee reporting
  • Maintain fixed assets and goodwill schedules on a monthly basis along with recording related journal entries
  • Monthly sales tax reporting to state agency

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop is a plus
