Jerry Pittman is hiring a Senior Weight Analyst in Pascagoula, MS.

GENERAL FUNCTION: Responsible for the analysis of engineering designs to determine the ability of the design to comply with contractual weight and moment requirements.

TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities

Performs weight calculations on design drawings

Prepares weight estimates for new contracts and proposals

Reviews design drawings for weight compliance

Prepares weight reports for issuance as required

Scopes engineering change proposals (ECP) for weight and moment impact

Recommends corrections for adverse weight and moment trends

Reviews proposed designs for weight distribution

Assists in weight survey and inclining

Supervises scale weighing at yard and creates weight report

Reviews vendor information received for assigned contract

DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
Comprehensive knowledge of analytical methods for determining mass properties of company products and components. Knowledge of government and regulatory standards pertaining to physical mass properties including SAWE recommended Practices 12, 13 & 14. Highly computer literate, especially with spread sheet programs including Ship Weight Software.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & TRAINING
Two years of college level course work in industrial technology and drafting. College level mathematics including trigonometry and analytic geometry. Considerable to extensive experience in marine weight estimating and design; or any combination of experience and training which results in the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Pay: $57,923.13 - $133,140.05 per year
