The Senior QA Engineer position is a highly motivated, experienced product and tech enthusiast, helping us to deliver globally-scalable tech solutions to the events industry. Helping ensure our products are battle-tested, reliable, and secure is the goal of the Product QA team at CDS. Working smarter, not harder, by using the leading automation and performance monitoring tools is key in deploying our products, making our team the most efficient they can be.

Work is performed primarily remotely, with occasional travel to the corporate headquarters on Cape Cod, and to event sites around the country or even internationally. Working times may, although rarely, include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

Key Characteristics
Confirmation of Product Design
- Participate and review the Product Designs and accompanying User Stories to ensure we’re delivering a consistent and intuitive user experience in our products
- Ensure the User Stories correctly represent the Product Design, and are story-pointed accurately to include the QA work required
- Identify dependencies and risks from the design, and define the test strategy for integrated systems
- Develop, execute, and maintain manual and automated tests for our various tech products
- Research and recommend key automation and performance testing tools, and help with their setup and on-going management
- Perform all aspects of verification - functional, regression, system testing, backend validation and user experience consistency
- Test and identify flaws and vulnerabilities in our products to ensure we can scale safely with a reliable foundation we can depend on
- Research and help define our best practices in Product Design and Development to limit our risk of compromise and to help train the team
- Research and identify locations where we may have exposed vulnerabilities through our infrastructure, devops, or configuration for our products using modern DevSecOps practices
- Helping deliver reliable, scalable products is key to building trust among our colleagues, our company, and most importantly, our customers. This is at the heart of what we do best.
- Having open and honest conversations, challenging the status quo, and being able to backup opinions with proven research is how we help lead in the events industy as a valued partner to our clients
- Work well with Product, Development, IT, and Business teams to update and train on best practices
- Review other test engineers’ code and test plans for completeness, correctness, and best practices
- Partner with equal or junior members of the QA team to provide best practices, coaching and guidance in challenges on a regular basis
- Consistently share best practices we've learned, as well as industry best practices, to help contribute to our success as a well-functioning Product QA team
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity or similar
- 3+ years of experience in development-related field, corporate or consulting environment
- 3+ years QA experience successfully manually testing and validating tech products through the various stages of the product lifecycle (MVP, product/market fit, growth, maintenance, sunset)
- Experience defining QA metrics and visualizations to guide product success
- Experience with agile or lean methodologies, and continuous integration/delivery
- Manual QA testing and at least some experience in QA automation tools:
- Experience testing websites and mobile apps and configuring test environments and devices
- Experience with REST API testing and automation is a plus
- Experience with the following is a plus:
- Adobe XD, Figma
- Postman, Swagger
- Atlassian Products – Jira, Confluence
- Microsoft Sharepoint/OneDrive, Teams
