Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr. Principal Project Management – NORTHCOM Deputy & Peterson AFB Site Support to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located out of Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO.
Position Overview:
Position will be located at the MDIOC and report to the C2BMC Command Center Lead located at Schriever AFB. This position is multi-faceted with the primary role being the NORTHCOM Deputy to support the MDIOC and Cheyenne Mountain Space Force Station (CMSFS); in order to meet all NORTHCOM requirements. Also, this role will support the new mission capability for MSVP, with additional duties as the Peterson AFB Site Spt, and BOA sustainment/training.
Essential Functions:
- Candidate will assist the NORTHCOM Lead in all sustainment tasks and will coordinate all facets of the NORTHCOM Mission; to include remotes sites in other states (e.g. Beale AFB, FGA, Clear, and Buckley Space Force Station) for maintaining all C2BMC systems (hardware and software at all NORTHCOM sites).
- Position requires the ability to manage multiple projects, interacting and coordinating with various intra/inter Missile Defense Agency related organizations to include attending conferences and briefings on behalf of C2BMC Operations.
- Candidate must also possess the ability to brief both program management and customer leadership.
- Applicant will be responsible for maintaining both hardware and software in a complex heterogeneous computing environment consisting of SUN Solaris UNIX, Windows 2000 (Servers and Clients), CISCO Routers and Switches, SGI and other network components.
- Candidate will also supply inputs to monthly status reports to include activities accomplished and support participation in the weekly staff/technical interchange meetings and administer the C2BMC configuration management processes.
- Position is normally Mon-Fri: will require off-hours, some on-call, evening and weekend support during system anomalies and/or tests; and dependent upon real-world events.
- Some travel is expected (up to 3 or 4 trips/yr).
- Perform other related duties and assignments as required.
Basic Qualifications:
If applicable, please note your updated security clearance and IAT/relevant certifications on your resume.
- An active Top Secret clearance is required.
- 10 Years with Bachelor’s degree in a related field; 14 years’ experience in lieu of a degree.
- Must possess a DoD 8570 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA)
- Experienced in Project Management, Planning, technical troubleshooting and resource management
- Experience with operations and maintenance of large-scale computer and communications systems/networking environment
- Effective communications and ability to brief technical system and network issues and overall system reports to program management and customer leadership using appropriate tools such as Microsoft Visio and PowerPoint
- Candidate must be a self-starting problem solver with the ability to work with military and civilian personnel in a potential high stress situation with limited supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
- C2MBC Sysadmin and overall knowledge of NORTHCOM operations and processes.
