The Position

The purpose of the position is to manage the systems, data and infrastructure that support the North America Privacy Program (the "Program") as part of the Ethics, Compliance & Privacy Department, as well as to assist in execution of the Program to ensure full compliance with all applicable data ethics & privacy regulations in North America and, where possible, ensure alignment with the broader Ethics, Compliance & Privacy Team and broader NN Global Data Ethics & Privacy principles. This position will focus on operationalizing the Privacy Management System to meet compliance objectives and the responsible use of data across the organization.


Relationships

The Senior Manager Privacy Office will report to head of North America Privacy Office (“NAPO”) within the Ethics, Compliance and Privacy (“ECP”) Department.


In addition to interacting with manager, the Senior Manager – Privacy Office will interact with various internal stakeholders including Senior leadership within E&C, Legal, Finance & Operations (IT, Procurement, CI&A, PSP), and business teams, as well as global teams for the purpose of program operations, including Privacy Office strategy to ensure alignment with enterprise strategy, business planning, NA affiliate support, and other key Privacy Office processes.


External relationships vendors, consultants and maintaining broader Privacy professional network within privacy community.


Essential Functions

  • Supports the – North America Privacy Office in facilitating and raising awareness of the privacy program while driving value to the business organization and fostering a compliant approach to the handling, use, access, or processing of personally identifiable information
  • Support the NA Privacy Office’s strategy by turning objectives into programmatic and project plans
  • Manage the Privacy Management Tool (e.g., OneTrust) as it supports the Novo Nordisk Privacy Program
  • Support the use of privacy tools and resources related to advanced data utilization techniques to minimize data ethics risks (e.g., risk of reidentification, deidentification standards)
  • Manage operational components of the NA Privacy Office Third Party Assessment Process- including Privacy and Security Assessments, document and review of Inventory Creation, Business Process Assessments, Privacy Impact Assessments, etc.
  • Manage and drive execution of NA Privacy Office operational program plan
  • Manage and support annual system roadmap within North America and support with global
  • Provide ongoing management and oversight of program projects both within NNI, across North America affiliates, and where necessary, global projects with Data Privacy Office
  • Cross-functional collaboration with the business to manage multiple privacy related projects to support the enterprise digital strategy in an efficient and streamlined manner
  • Monitor and report on the ongoing initiatives of the privacy program through the use of appropriate tools and technology
  • Provides additional support to Ethics, Compliance & Privacy team as requested


Physical Requirements

0-10% overnight travel required. 5-10% overnight travel required.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required. MBA or advanced degree is a plus. Additional project management education/certification is a plus
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience with project management experience in a corporate environment OR a minimum of 6+ years of experience required if accompanied by an advanced degree or certification (e.g. JD, MBA, PMP). Experience in pharmaceutical, healthcare, or medical device industry is a plus. Privacy or compliance program management experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate complex data concepts and the rationale behind decisions across large audiences
  • Experience working in a Cloud Computing environment highly desired, particularly AWS. Experience with Snowflake and AWS S3 preferred
  • Understanding of & knowledgeable in system development lifecycle including operation & maintenance and decommissioning of systems
  • Experience with IT projects & management of IT systems
  • Experience in assessing security policies, procedures, technical standards, and best practices implemented by third party providers, including those in the cloud industry; ability to identify any gaps or risks associated with leveraging the provider for processing of personal information. Review provider documentation and assess against concrete internal requirements
  • Understanding of security standards and guidelines
  • Ability to influence and drive change through the development of meaningful relationships to achieve common goals and drive successful outcomes for organization
  • Strong ability to drive multiple projects to completion meeting internal and external deliverables with high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent organization skills and a proven track record of success working closely with technology, compliance, legal and operational teams
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities on tight deadlines without compromising quality
  • Strong project management, training and planning skills required
  • Experience with risk assessment and risk management is plus
  • Must be strong in Power Point, Visio, Excel, SharePoint
