Position Summary:

KBR’s Readiness and Sustainment Business Unit seeks an experienced Senior HR Manager to provide regional support to work teams, lead R&S proposal-related HR support efforts in collaboration with our Business Development team and manage and oversee other highly visible cross-Group initiatives, such as the Internship program and employee-centric activities that drive engagement, retention and company culture. Work closely with colleagues within HR and other related Functional and Operations teams across KBR, especially within the KBR GSUS Readiness and Sustainment Business Unit. This individual will have a strong background managing people and HR activities, and a broad array of generalist experience with a focus in employee relations and remote client group support as an HR business partner. They will lead a small team alongside fellow HR Managers who also serve designated regions and/or functions and will enjoy implementing and championing “best workplace” programs and projects across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The responsibilities and duties may include but are not limited to the following:

  • Implementation and administration of HR programs, policies, processes, and procedures designed to attract, retain and reward employees in alignment with overall business strategy and growth initiatives
  • Provide HR support to designated region/client group(s)
  • Participation in the development and implementation of functional strategy and associated program/process rollout and ongoing administration
  • Assist with the development of employee engagement activities and other “best workplace” initiatives, as well as have responsibility for their implementation
  • Ability to analyze workforce data and develop and implement retention strategies.
  • Develop and implement policies and practices across the workforce to ensure consistency and alignment with Company policies, the Collective Bargaining Agreement and employment laws.
  • Direct and/or perform a variety of diverse assignments covering a wide range of human resource functions (i.e., employee relations, training, labor relations, talent acquisition and international labor laws).
  • Serves as the primary interface between managers, employees, legal, Ethics and the Dispute Resolution Program regarding human resource related issues.
  • Oversee employee/labor relation issues and serves as an investigative resource.
  • Expertise in coaching and counseling employees, supervisors, and managers to proactively address employee relations and performance management concerns.
  • Conducts training sessions on various human resource related topics such as performance management, compliance and employee relations.
  • Experience leading in a union environment.
  • Supervise direct reports and establishes performance objectives/goals.
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, military base access and a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Works in close partnership with the Legal team to ensure the right balance of risk mitigation, engagement, and fairness is delivered;
  • Oversees, conducts and leads complex investigations related to allegations of harassment, discrimination, wage & hour and policy violations;
  • Drives cultural adoption of employee relations models and skills through communication and training for managers and employees; develops and leads training for managers on performance management best practices;
  • Tracks relevant employee data, metrics & trends to help inform process improvements and approaches.
  • Create and maintain a record of all investigations and cases using proper documentation standards throughout the investigation process.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment

Basic Qualifications and Skills Requirements:

  • Employee Engagement advocate and ability to think outside the box in order to support and expand a growing organization that is focused on maintaining a great/best place to work culture and environment
  • Team-oriented and Close-to-the-Customer focused
  • Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years relevant HR experience, or in lieu of degree 16+ years relevant experience
  • 3+ years HR management experience
  • 8+ years Employee Relations experience
  • 8+ years of professional experience providing HRBP group support
  • HR-related certification (SHRM-CP, PHR) completed or planned completion NLT 2023
  • Willingness to travel 10-20% as will be necessary to support the needs of the business

Preferred Qualifications and Skills Requirements (optional):

  • Hands-on Workday administration experience with fluency in HR transaction processing within this HRIS
  • Prior experience supporting Business Development and bid-to-win Proposal activities
  • Deltek Costpoint timekeeping and expense reporting system user
  • Advanced Microsoft Office suite proficiency – Excel, especially (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, et. Al.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week

Desired skills include:

  • Experience with OCONUS employees and their deployment.
  • Experience with new business, recompetes and proposals.
  • Experience overseeing Human Resources for over 800 employees.
