Sr. Manager Business Development Job at Orsted
Imagine a future where you chart a successful course for our quickly growing green hydrogen and e-fuels business in the Americas
Join us in this role where you’ll identify and originate business opportunities for large-scale electrolysis and e-fuels production projects in the US. You’ll develop commercial concepts and engage customers and partners directly to substantiate opportunities. Moreover, your commercial experience and customer relationships will help inform and steer our commercial strategy.
Welcome to Power-to-X Americas
You’ll be part of P2X Americas where you, together with your colleagues, will develop and deliver projects producing fuels via renewable electricity, selling them into existing and new markets. We’re planning for rapid growth due to supportive federal policy and a strong Ørsted renewable generation footprint, and you’ll be responsible for a key part of that growth. As a team, we work closely and collaboratively with a heavy emphasis on ideas, initiative, and learning, in the early stage of this nascent industry.
You’ll play an important role in:
- originating new business relationships and project concepts that demonstrate commercial and strategic value to the business
- maintaining and growing a network of customer and partner contacts to support existing and new P2X projects
- collaborating closely with colleagues in Ørsted’s renewables business to ensure a path to renewable power feedstock for new opportunities
- drafting and presenting materials on project opportunities to P2X Americas leadership through approval stage gates.
To succeed in the role, you:
- have 5+ years of business development or commercial experience in gas and liquids or renewable energy industries, with experience in hydrogen, ammonia, and/or methanol being considered a plus
- have an existing professional network in one or more offtake sectors for hydrogen or e-fuels
- demonstrate tenacity, drive, and creativity when approaching new and unique challenges
- have excellent communication skills and the ability to influence internal or external stakeholders.
