Sr. Manager, Accounting - Fixed Assets Job at Reddy Ice LLC
POSITION PURPOSE:
This position manages the Fixed Assets and lease accounting team in accordance with GAAP. Conducts monthly accounting close processes, periodic transaction research and financial analysis. Responsible for compiling and communicating variances between actual, budgeted and projected capital spend. Works cross functionally with business unit leadership to ensure appropriate accounting for assets and leases. Manages the company’s accounts payable function, including internal and outsourced systems, the purchasing cards process and related analyses and reporting.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Staff, train, performance manage, review, and coach the Fixed Asset, Lease Accounting and A/P teams. Provide regular feedback based on performance and metrics and manage the departments’ budgets, including overtime.
- Manage and administer the accounts payable subsystem (Next Process), expense report reimbursement system, and PCARD processes.
- Conduct self-audits to ensure that company vendors are paid in a timely manner, within terms, and in accordance with company policies. Resolve accounts payable issues with internal and external customers.
- Manage vendor payment and 1099 reporting processes.
- Manage all fixed asset transactions; record, change, or update asset records in a timely manner and in accordance with GAAP.
- Develop, document and implement department processes and controls to ensure the proper recording and maintenance of company assets in the sub-ledger.
- Partner with the G/L Accounting Group and Field Operations to conduct annual fixed asset existence testing. Collaborate on developing and communicating instructions and timely reporting for the annual physical audit, and act as a point of contact for field training and support.
- Accountable for the monthly fixed asset accounting close process and related reconciliation, reporting (fixed asset roll-forward, CAPEX, etc.) and tracking.
- Manage the accounting for leases in accordance with ASC 842.
- Prepare audit schedules and resolve audit issues as identified by internal and/or external auditors.
- Prepare and provide recommendations on opportunities to improve processes and changes to company policies and procedures.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
This position manages the Accounts Payable, Lease Accounting and Fixed Asset staff.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in accounting
- Minimum 5-7 years of experience managing Fixed Asset processes and teams
- ERP / Microsoft Dynamics AX experience strongly preferred
- Next Process / Purchasing / Procurement system experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to identify and resolve issues independently
- Intermediate computer skills, including Excel, Word, Outlook and Fixed Asset/AP/General Ledger systems
- Strong GAAP knowledge, analytical, and problem solving skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
