POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Senior Cost Estimator will provide Cost Estimating support services to the NNSA Capital Projects mission being performed by Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS), LLC. The primary focus of these support efforts shall provide assistance and support to the SRNS NNSA Capital Projects initiative by the valuation of the various project scopes, costs, schedules, and management plans and development of support procedures and processes for project integration interface with engineering and procurement.
The position will provide personnel for senior cost estimating to support the SRNS NNSA Capital Projects, Project Controls and Estimating operations, including the following:

The position will provide personnel for senior cost estimating to support the SRNS NNSA Capital Projects, Project Controls and Estimating operations, including the following:
- Establish and manage numerous diverse project control deliverables
- Provide EVMS direction, assist with project cost, schedule, scope, and subcontract matrices, while adhering to SRS quality, environmental, and safety objectives.
- Establish and control project costs, schedule, and technical baselines and provide effective management of EVMS and other project control tools.
- Ensure all cost data, accruals, and forecast are accurate and reliable
- Ensure all cost reporting are in compliant with EVMS reports and reporting
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a science, engineering, business or task relevant discipline. Equivalency Requirements, may be applied in lieu of education.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
10 or more years related experience or a combination of education and experience of 12 years or more.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience on a DOE Capital Line-item Projects (5 t0 10 years).
- Must have demonstrated Cobra/Cost management experience 15-20 years
- Preferred Certification (PMI, AACEI)
LOCATION
Savannah River Site - Aiken, SC. Position will be primarily performed at SRS and various off-site locations as needed.
The Savannah River Site (SRS), a 310 square mile (198,046 acres) Department of Energy site, is located in the sand-hills region of South Carolina. It encompasses parts of Aiken, Barnwell and Allendale counties and is bordered on the west by the Savannah River and Georgia. SRS is close to several cities, including Augusta, Georgia and Columbia, South Carolina. It is also within a few hours of Atlanta, Savannah, Charleston, Greenville and Charlotte.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Successful candidates will be able to perform the essential functions of the job with reasonable accommodation. A 40-hour work week is scheduled. SRS utilizes various work schedules, including 5/8s (8 hours/day; five days per week), 4/10s (10 hours/day; four days per week), and a 9/80s (9 hours/day, five days on week A and 4 days on week B). The work week excludes SRNS holidays. Each workday has a 30-minute lunch. The period of performance shall be for a period of one year base period and an additional one-year option. An active DOE clearance is not initially required to perform assigned duties. Subcontract personnel must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOE "Q" security clearance. After award, the selected uncleared candidate may be required to apply for a DOE clearance. Must be a US Citizen.
