Job Summary:

The Sr. Cold Forming Mechanic sets up, operates, and develops new products using Cold Heading, Cold Forming and Thread rolling machines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs full setup and operates multi station cold forming machine to produce mini / micro precision metal parts from a variety of metals and alloys on existing products.
• Performs adjustments on machinery to assure a quality part is being made.
• Inspects tooling and setup machines.
• Must be able to repair / maintain all tool and dies.
• Maintains a neat and well-organized work area.

• Observes all safety rules.

• Other duties as directed by the Engineering Department.

Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Trade School preferred.
• 5 to 10 years years of experience in Cold heading and Thread rolling desired.

Skills and Abilities:

• Capable of working from verbal instructions.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong math and mechanical reasoning skills.
• Advanced ability to operate and troubleshoot the single and multi- blow cold heading machines.
• Advanced ability to develop new products on Nakashimda MF220 and NP40 machines
• Advanced ability to setup Thread rolling and form rolling machines
• Ability to interpret safety instructions, job orders, blueprints, quality specifications, and other related documents.
• Engage team environment to resolve set up issues, actively participate in tool room department team meetings.

Physical Requirements:

• Visual ability to read directions and prints and to inspect parts closely to ensure that they meet specifications.
• May be required to lift heavy (over 30 lbs.) objects and work with chemicals/cleaners.
