Spray Technician

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join Carr’s Tree Service as a Spray Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for effectively applying herbicides to control vegetation growth around trees and other landscape areas. While prior experience is preferred, we are willing to provide training for candidates who demonstrate the necessary enthusiasm and commitment. You will work alongside our experienced team, utilizing four wheelers, six wheelers, and UTVs for efficient herbicide application. The position requires flexibility in working hours as they may vary due to weather conditions, with a target of achieving a 40 to 50-hour work week.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform vegetation management tasks, including applying herbicides using four wheelers, six wheelers, and UTVs.
  • Accurately identify target vegetation and ensure proper herbicide application techniques are employed.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to protect yourself, team members, and the environment during herbicide application.
  • Maintain and calibrate equipment to ensure accurate application rates and consistent results.
  • Monitor and report any signs of equipment malfunction or maintenance requirements to the supervisor.
  • Document all herbicide applications accurately and maintain records in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in vegetation surveys and provide recommendations for effective vegetation management strategies.
  • Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to ensure efficient workflow and completion of tasks.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and new developments in herbicide application techniques.
  • Adhere to company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards at all times.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Previous experience in spray herbicide vegetation management is preferred but not required. Training will be provided to candidates who demonstrate the right aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with four wheelers, six wheelers, UTVs, or similar equipment is a plus.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and physically demanding environments.
  • Detail-oriented with good observation skills to accurately identify target vegetation.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Commitment to safety protocols and responsible herbicide application practices.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment and work outdoors for extended periods.
