Sport/Play based Resilience Training Instructor Job at Intellectual Athlete
Intellectual Athlete is a mental fitness company founded on the idea that resilience needs to be experienced. We are piloting a new play experience at local parks integrating breathwork, free play, athletic skill development and storytelling. Sessions take place during the 4pm-6pm time period, usually lasting an hour.
We will pay a flat rate plus include a cash bonus tied to the amount of kids who enroll for each session. This is an ideal side hustle for Athletes, Coaches, Counselors and Grad students who operate at the intersection of mental performance and mental health. We plan to run pilots in Encinitas, Carlsbad, Scripps Ranch and Del Mar. Instructors operate more like life guards than traditional youth sport coaches. This gig is way more fun.
Who we are: IA taps into the inherent pressure in sport and play to accelerate heart rates and increase stress levels followed by breathing techniques to help youth learn to calm their mind. IA’s approach is physiological, not clinical – we want young people to experience real stress while learning how to use their breath as a remote control to manage how they feel.
