Schedule: Monday - Friday - 7.5 Hours/Day, 190 Days/Year
Salary: This professional position follows the Collective Bargaining Agreement Salary Schedule starting at Bachelor Step 1 ($50,920)
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Special Education Teacher is under the general supervision of the Program Supervisor: they will maximize the learning experience of students in special education classrooms, in academics, interpersonal skills and activities of daily living by implementing approved curriculum and evidence-based teaching strategies. The teacher will complete IDEA paperwork within timeline constraints and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), address students' specific needs while providing a safe and optimal learning environment. They will collaboratively work with multiple school districts achieve the individualized students' goals.
KNOWLEDGE & REQUIREMENTS:
Education Required: Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Special Education. PA Certification(s). Special Education N-12
Other Qualifications: Understanding and implementation of behavioral management strategies. Understanding and implementation of evidence based strategies for students with disabilities. Independence and confidence in IDEA paperwork and time management
