Effectiveness:

• Exhibits good knowledge of characteristics of students with various disabilities, and basic language (including a language other than English for bilingual) and math skills
• Assists Special Education Teachers in reinforcing efforts with children with various disabilities in accordance with each student’s Individual Education Plan (IEP)
• Provides one-on-one tutoring services to reinforce or present learning concepts
• Provides one-on-one personal hygiene services for students with severe disabilities
• Assists students with orthopedic impairments by arranging and adjusting tools, work aids, and equipment used by students in classrooms,
• Lifts and positions non-ambulatory students during the school day as instructed by the teacher and in adherence to written instruction from students’ personal physicians
• Assists teacher in instructing students in daily living skills
• Assists in feeding student unable to do so themselves
• Takes notes in classroom for students who are unable to do so
• Assists teacher by correcting homework and examinations and maintaining written records of student behavior
• Completes written reports when required

• Adheres to student IEPs and works proactively to provide all designated supports and services as needed
• Responds effectively to directives given by other service providers
• Completes written reports when required

• Work collaboratively with teachers, classroom staff, clinicians, administrators, and parents
• Set professional boundaries with students and parents
• Maintain student confidentiality
• Models appropriate behavior for students
• Attends and participates in workshops and in service training to update job related skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
