Becker & Lee LLP, a full-service immigration law firm based in Oakland, California, seeks to hire an Immigration Paralegal/Legal Assistant. The candidate will be assigned principally to removal cases, family-based petitions, federal litigation cases, waiver cases, and some employment cases. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of immigration experience. Pay rate will depend on experience. Duties include maintaining frequent communication with clients, preparing forms and drafting employer letters. The applicant must efficiently and accurately complete cases under the supervision of supervising attorneys. Time management and organizational skills are essential to effectively handle the high-volume of cases that will be assigned.

Skills and Abilities:

• Must be completely fluent in both Spanish and English.
• Experience submitting applications to and interacting with USCIS, the NVC and other government agencies in cases such as I-130, I-485, I-589, I-601A, I-751, I-765, 42B and N-400.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to execute the entire application process with attorney support and work independently.
• Detail-oriented.
• Able to multi-task, learn quickly, and work with flexibility and ease under pressure.
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills required.
• Proficiency with general office equipment, Microsoft Word and Google Docs.

Experience:

• 1-3 years of immigration law experience.

Minimum Education Level:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
