Job Summary:

FULLY REMOTE – CAN BE BASED OUT OF EXTON, PA., JACKSONVILLE, FL., OR ALANTA, GA.

This is a Multilocation Location Assignment Sourcing Specialist II role responsible for all National Accounts.

Sourcing Specialist II role is responsible for managing sourcing requests, driving opportunities to preferred suppliers, negotiating cost reductions through alignment with the Veritiv Product Management strategy and complete analytical projects that improve Veritiv’s position with its customers.

Sourcing Specialist, covering National Acco will master the available tools and be well-versed in all resources available to them. They will have the ability to train others to use these tools and be encouraged to help develop new tools, reporting, and processes for greater efficiency.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for assigned product category proposals for individual field level RFQs and work order requests. Develop customized product programs that meet the customer’s needs and align with Veritiv’s overall strategy and preferred suppliers.
    • Collaborate with sales to confirm customer application, downstream product touch points, and determine accurate technical specifications which include interpretation of engineering documentation, CAD drawings, gathering and measuring samples, etc.
    • Identify and collaborate with Preferred suppliers that can meet the technical needs of the request; May require collaboration with non-preferred suppliers or a search for new suppliers which can support the technical requirements of the product.
    • Negotiate contract costs, terms, minimums, and incentives to gain and/or grow new business and enhance margin position utilizing internal tools and market knowledge. Maintain deep understanding of agreements, terms, minimums, and incentives with key Preferred Suppliers to leverage buying power for best cost programs for key products
    • Collaborate with sales and product management on sourcing strategies and to meet vendor growth incentives.
  • Deliver cost savings by negotiating competitive costs with suppliers, leveraging quote responses and available system tools, in addition to promotion of preferred suppliers and Veritiv’s private brands
  • Conduct existing customer business enhancement projects aimed at producing cost savings/margin improvements, offering product solutions, consolidating SKUs and manufacturers with preferred, and simplifying logistic complexities.
  • Conduct product research and portfolio analysis projects. Understand general market trends, emergent products, and market indices (i.e. IHS, CDI, ICIS). Make regular product recommendations as gaps are identified and communicate benefits to Veritiv. Conduct supplier research and analysis projects. Build and maintain supplier relationships; provide insight into supplier performance; maintain additional supplier contacts with unique technical capabilities beyond segment’s preferred published list. Make regular recommendations for new Preferred suppliers as gaps are identified and communicate benefits to Veritiv.
  • Work closely with Product Management to ensure effective utilization of corporate programs, private brand products, core vendor selection, and product transitions.
  • Assist Product Manager and Product Specialist on Product Lifecycle Management initiatives, strategic launches, sales campaigns, and cost changes. Collaborate and communicate with Inventory Management, Data Management, Sales/Sales Support regarding potential business impacts in implementing resolution.
  • Demonstrate project management skills to meet all internal and external deadlines.
  • Understand and use inventory replenishment systems (ERS) and sourcing processes, procedures and systems including Salesforce.com, VOS, UniSCORE, Cost Insight Tool, VeritivFreight.com, Smartsheet
  • Process New Item Requests (NIRs) and New Supplier Requests (NSRs) and ensure adherence to Veritiv’s go-to-market strategy. Collaborate with Sales and Sales Support to ensure proper documentation and approvals.
  • Respond professionally and comprehensively to field requests and inquires
  • Comply with daily performance metrics in managing incoming sourcing activity.
  • Provide additional training, education, and documentation for all functional areas (sourcing, sales, etc.) as needed
  • Other related duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.

Qualifications / Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, or equivalent work experience of 3-5 years in supply chain, sourcing, sales, or related field required
  • Highly motivated, customer focused person with the ability to prioritize workload in a face paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple and conflicting deadlines, often under pressure
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, people, and diplomacy skills are required
  • Effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • Display a sense of urgency to respond to inquiries and service internal and external customers.
  • PC proficient in Windows based software programs including Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate to advanced knowledge in Excel functions.
  • Project management skills preferred
  • Strong analytical skills, i.e., ability to look at data multiple ways and provide informed opinions and contribute to business and process decisions and policy compliance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, i.e., problem identification, research, and resolution.
  • Experience in planning, sourcing, negotiating, contracting, and supplier management preferred
  • Experience working with ERP systems, contract management, CRM systems, and project management tools preferred

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:

  • Fully remote. Majority of the time sitting/standing working at a computer. Minimal travel.
