Position Summary

The solutions architect is an information technology professional who designs, develops and implements applications and operational platforms for software systems. This position directs the design of new applications from conception to completion and helps project leaders oversee the technical staff involved with development projects.

Accountabilities/Responsibilities

• Partner with business executives, product owners, and end-users to conceptualize a new application project.
• Translates business requirements into technical requirements for the project and recommends technical resources and assigns tasks.
• Assists in development of complex software solutions in support of requirements of assigned development projects.
• Assists technical staff to resolve technical issues during development projects.
• Documents processes related to development standards, guidelines, and procedures regarding application development, use, and security.
• Directs implementation by evaluating and testing applications to ensure that the functionality meets the business goals.
• Assists Platform Development team in design and implementation of modern development, deployment, and automated CI/CD pipelines to streamline the software delivery process.

Minimum Qualifications/Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related technical field or equivalent experience
• Ability to demonstrate 5 - 7 years of software development and 1-2 years of modern architectural systems/solutions implementations
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Creativity and the ability to work with abstract concepts
• Ability to communicate effectively and work in a team environment with all levels in the organization
• Must keep current on technology trends
• Must be well versed in Tomcat, WebSphere, Java/JEE, Hibernate, JUnit, Jenkins

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in various CI/CD delivery models
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
