Salary Grade: Hourly

Levels: Entry Level I, II, III
Position Overview:
The position involves performing a variety of complex assembly operations of electronic parts, mechanical components, subassemblies and units including printed circuit boards, panels, cable harnesses and other electronic assemblies. Good wire preparation, soldering and termination skills are a key pre-requisite. This role will be a key supporting role to the development of the production process.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Reads work instructions, follows production drawings, procedures and/or receives verbal instructions regarding testing of assemblies and duties to be performed.
  • Verifies adequate materials and supplies are available to complete operations as needed.
  • Perform hand soldering of components and wires utilizing the proper soldering irons, tips and materials.
  • Capable of performing touch-up of solder joints.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness by meeting all productivity and quality objectives.
  • Conducts quality checks periodically to ensure standards of quality are met.
  • May perform soldering functions under microscope or another magnifying device.
  • Communicates with team and support staff to ensure continuous production at high quality levels.
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with all IEC procedures, rules and regulations.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED
Certification, Licensures, or Registrations required to qualify for this position
  • Support and maintain all 6S workplace organization standards.
Internal Experience:
  • Please refer to the ‘Soldering Operator Core Functions Addendum’ for training and length of service criteria.
