Job Title: Solar Installer I
Classification: hourly, non-exempt (no overtime)
Benefits eligible: Yes

Purpose: This position is for a solar technician who can perform all tasks needed to install both roof and ground-mounted photovoltaic systems.

Work Description: Openings for Part-time and Full-time positions at a well-established solar energy company based in North Yarmouth, ME. ASE seeks a motivated self-starter with a sense of adventure, willing and able to work in a team environment installing solar equipment to the highest industry standards.

Environment: Solar installing is done in the open and completely exposed to the elements. The work takes place in conditions of cold, heat, wind, and sometimes snow, or rain. Work is to be done in the safest manner possible. The shift is four, ten-hour days, typically Monday through Thursday.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, crawl spaces, etc.)

- Must be comfortable working on a roof.
- OSHA 10 Hour Construction Card, Ladder Safety, Fall Protection.
- Must be safety conscious and abide by safety rules on job site.
- good hand-eye coordination.
- able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- light carpentry skills, a plus.
- Previous construction experience preferred.
- Flexible and copes with change in plans well.
- ability to operate independently.
- be self-directed and self-motivated, and punctual.
- basic computer skills a plus (excel, email, phone apps).
- able to operate heavy equipment, skid steer, boom-lift, tractor, backing trucks and trailers.
- experience providing customer service to the general public.
- Focused on making the installation experience good for the customer.
- Highly conscientious about quality of work.
- Able to measure and lay out roof and ground mounted array.
- Boat experience a plus.
- Climbing experience, a plus
- Some overnight travel may be required.

Certificates: Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
OSHA 10 Construction Card, preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
