Software Quality Assurance/Quality Control Job at BlueHalo

BlueHalo San Diego, CA 92108

Overview:

BlueHalo’s Titan RF-CUAS Group designs, develops, and manufactures the Titan Counter-Unmanned Aerial System, providing real-time protection for life, property, and sensitive infrastructure from unwanted drones using a non-destructive AI-based approach. Titan systems are deployed across the globe, rapidly expanding the footprint of a technologically innovative solution that addresses all aspects of the user experience.

We’re seeking an experienced Software QA/QC Professional to serve an integral role within our software team. The ideal candidate will support software testing, debugging, and validation to ensure software releases are free of logical, functional, or procedural errors in a fast-paced, agile environment.

A customer-first attitude is critical, as Titan’s software and User Interface effectively serve as the face of the system for both new and experienced operators. Titan’s broad adoption is a direct result of a carefully managed approach to software design, and the ideal candidate will have proven skills in testing of critical systems and applications. Specific responsibilities include designing and implementing test plans, debugging, and troubleshooting software within a CI/CD pipeline. The candidate will work closely with both the software development and QA teams to coordinate regression testing and write test cases for new software features. This requires a deep understanding of the system’s operating goals and use cases, and a high level of scrutiny to rapidly identify and document any unusual behaviors with the goal of ensuring a high level of reliability and consistency for end users. The candidate will also assist in field testing systems and data gathering to support the broader goals of Titan QA and R&D development.

This role is an opportunity to make an impactful contribution to a system that helps ensure the safety of civilian and deployed personnel worldwide.
Responsibilities:
What You’ll Do
  • Participate in and coordinate weekly field-testing operations that support the hardening of new or existing software versions
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures for all new software releases
  • Investigate customer complaints and work with the software team to implement corrective actions
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new software features to ensure that quality standards are met
  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends and areas of improvement
  • Maintain accurate records of quality control activities and provide regular reports
Qualifications:
Skills and Experience:
  • Demonstrable knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
  • Hands-on experience in installing, configuring, operating, and monitoring CI/CD pipeline tools
  • Experience with Selenium, Playwrite, Chrome debugger, or similar testing tools
  • Proven work experience using Linux CLI
  • Familiarity with full-stack development languages and frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of socket-based networking and standard protocols
  • Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Experience working within an Agile/Scrum development environment
  • Solid knowledge of Python or similar scripting languages

Requirements:
  • The candidate should have 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • Location/Schedule: San Diego office, regular business hours
  • Must be a US Citizen with appropriate identification and able to obtain a secret level security clearance

Experience with MATLAB and/or DSP is not necessary for this position, but it would be nice if they already have it. [YN1]

I would also maybe add experience with "Playwright" as a "nice to have" skill since that will eventually be the system that they'll be working with. [YN2]

Agree with Yasi to de-emphasize MATLAB and possibly LabView as well [HB3]

Do we want to call out UI specific things like Java, HTML, CSS, etc? [JB4]
