Role Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly talented, motivated individual seeking an internship in software development within our IntelliGen R&D team. We use modern full stack technologies (TypeScript, Angular, Node.JS, Docker, and others) to write software for our instruments, which help our customers achieve their genetic objectives. Our team maintains the code for the user interface, back end, and embedded systems. This is a great learning opportunity for someone early in their career
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work with other members of the R&D software team to develop and maintain instrument software, as well as developing tools and applications to support acquisition, access, and analysis of data.
  • Provide appropriate documentation for code and follow best practice standards for software development.
  • Help find and fix bugs which cause issues for our users.
  • Improve usability of Angular UI.
  • Interact with science teams and users to understand requirements and identify improvements to the software.
Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, CIS or related academic fields of study.
  • Programming experience with JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Experience with modern software development techniques, configuration management principles, and version control.
  • Self-driven, with good communication and teamwork skills.


Desired Qualifications (not required):

  • Experience working in a Linux/Unix environment.
  • Programming experience with C++.
  • Experience working with Docker containers.
