Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems (RMS) in Owego, New York is seeking a full time Summer 2023 Software Engineering Intern. In this role, you will work closely with a team of engineers to develop embedded software for Lockheed Martin Avionics Mission processors that provide a basis for operational software applications and develop software used to test these mission processors. The successful candidate will be flexible, motivated, dedicated, detail-focused, team-focused, and capable of multi-tasking. Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance.
The Locale: Owego, New York is located about 200 miles northwest of New York City and about 75 miles south of Syracuse New York. Owego sits just north of the border with Pennsylvania and is part of what's known as the ""Southern Tier"" section of New York State. The region is home to Binghamton University and Cornell University. Niagara Falls, NYC, & Philadelphia are all within a few hours’ drive from Owego. Rolling hillsides, historic homes, quaint country shops, riverside restaurants, fabulous festivals and a beautiful river make this region a great place to live. "

Basic Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering with qualifying software skills, Software engineering or related discipline
- Academic or professional experience using Java, C/C++, C#, Python, or similar programming languages in embedded applications
- Ability to work in a collaborative and team-based environment
- Ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance, therefore, U.S. Citizenship is required"
- Experience with hardware or device drivers and controls
- Basic understanding of Software Development Methodologies & Software configuration management
- Academic or professional experience in computer system administration
- Operating systems development experience with Windows & Unix/Linux, including shell scripting, in academic or professional environment
- Experience with Git/GitLab, visual studio
