Social Worker (Psychiatric Urgent Care)

Positions available @ Towson or Elkridge Hospitals

Sheppard Pratt’s Psychiatric Urgent Care (PUC) serves patients of all ages and is specially designed for people who need immediate psychiatric evaluation and triage. PUC services are provided on both the Towson and Baltimore Washington campuses. Those receiving services from the PUC are connected to levels of care most appropriate to serve the needs of our patients. PUC clinicians provide rapid assessments to facilitate care in settings such as day-hospital, inpatient and outpatient clinics.

In this position, you will:

• Provide urgent assessments
• Interview patients to obtain psychological histories
• Complete written psychological assessments
• Communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary treatment team
• Maintain patient documentation in accordance with program and health system requirements

This position requires:

• Master's degree in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council of Social Work Education and possession of a Maryland State Social Work or Counseling license, at the certified clinical level (LCSW-C, LCPC)
• Two years of experience in a hospital or similar clinical setting
• Experience in psychiatric emergency settings is preferred but not required
