Mental Health Professional

The Health Department of Northwest Michigan has a school based position available to provide group and individual services to K-12 youth. This rewarding position will also work across Health Department programs, including maternal infant health services, home visiting, and be involved with the community at large. Will provide services to students K-12 in addition to the Maternal Infant Health Program.

School Mental Health Providers / Social Workers provide intervention strategies for students experiencing difficulties in the school setting which may interfere with their social, emotional and / or academic development. They serve diagnostic teams and classroom teachers, are involved with educational planning, and provide social-emotional assessment information and intervention strategies.

This is a full time position during the school year, September through June, with minimal, if any, time worked during the summer. Applicants with experience using electronic medical records and mental health billing are preferred.

REQUIREMENTS - Current LMSW or LPC license preferred; LLMSW or LLPC will be considered.

RELOCATION EXPENSES up to $5,000.00 MAY be reimbursed, depending on incumbent's location.
