JOB TITLE: Social Worker

WORK YEAR: 187 work days, Part Time, Monday - Friday

REPORTS TO: School Principal and Director of Student Services
Position Summary
Provide a range of services for students who demonstrate difficulties with learning, academic achievement, social/emotional functioning, and behavior. Serve as a mental health service provider involved in proactive, preventative activities, as well as responding to identified concerns. Provide serviced based on a combination of problem solving, consultative and direct service models.
Responsibilities
- Develop individual, group or system level interventions which improve identified problems or concerns, including academic, social/ emotional/ behavioral/ mental health needs as they relate to educational progress. Implements current tools into the general education setting (Social Emotional Learning).
- Uses research-based and technically sound practices to drive decision-making and interventions; and collaborates with school personnel and parents to develop and modify student intervention strategies.
- Facilitates functional assessment of behavior (FBA) and designs/implements Behavior Intervention Plans as well as progress monitors intervention plans. Administers and collaborates with district staff, administrators, and other mental health providers in regard to threat and safety plans.
- Conducts, interprets, and implements student assessments which includes record review, interview, observation, and standardized assessment.
- Administers and interprets norm-referenced and curriculum-based assessment measures, if needed.
- Participates in team-based follow up activities to review student progress, analyze data and modify individual interventions.
- Review school wide assessment data to assist building staff(s) in interpreting and designing school wide interventions.
- Serve as liaison among district building(s), families and community and collaborates with various teams to assure positive outcomes for all learners.
- Implements and facilitates communication with student plans including but not limited to S504, safety plans, support plans, behavior plans
- Comply with Exceptional Student services and district policies and procedures (i.e., Medicaid billing, accident reporting).
- Other duties as assigned.

- Demonstrated knowledge and skill regarding the components of effective instruction.
- Demonstrated knowledge of content and teaching methods in area(s) of mental health and Colorado SEL standards.
- Demonstrated knowledge of developmental needs of students and mental health needs
- Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills.
- Evidence of ability to establish and maintain effective, cooperative relationships with school personnel, students, and parents.
- Demonstrated understanding and empathy necessary for working with students.

Bachelors Degree or Higher in Social Work
Licenses or Certification
QUALIFICATIONS FOR ALL TEACHING AND SPECIAL SERVICES POSITIONS
- Must hold a Colorado Alternative, Provisional, or Professional Social Worker License with appropriate endorsements.
- Bachelor's degree or higher required from an accredited university or college
- Completed a state approved Social Worker Preparation Program or participation in an Alternative License program.
- Demonstrates subject matter competency by one of the following means:
- Hold an endorsement in the subject area Special Service Provider through The Colorado Department of Education
- Prefer LCSW
- Pass the appropriate subject area PLACE or PRAXIS exam in Colorado or in a CDE approved state.

Generally the job requires sitting, walking, and standing. This job is performed in generally a clean and healthy environment.

Salary
Placement on Licensed Teacher salary schedule based upon highest degree earned, college credits earned after highest degree and previous experience. Current Board approved Licensed Teacher salary schedule and Master Agreement are available for review on our district website at www.ssd2.org. Highest initial step placement on the Licensed Salary Schedule is Step 9.
