Duties

  • Troubleshoots repairs and maintains a full range of recreational vehicles and equipment, such as but not limited to: watercrafts, ATV's, snowmobiles, tractors, lawnmowers, golf carts, etc.
  • Diagnoses malfunctions, determines needed or required repairs, and tests small gasoline and diesel engines including electrical systems, geared units, inboard and outboard gas, diesel and stern drive motors and components.
  • Times and adjusts engines to operating tolerances using specialized testing equipment such as compression testers, analyzers, test benches and specialized measuring instruments.
  • When required, makes necessary repairs to defects in fiberglass boat hulls and decks.

  • A one year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with AR 215-3 to include a National Agency Check (NAC).
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

Demonstrated work experience directly related to the duties to be performed.

Highly Preferred Qualification**
1. One year working experience or specialized training repairing outboard motor repairs and diagnostic troubleshooting.
2. One Year working experience or training for ATV/ROV repairs and diagnostic troubleshooting.
3. Ability to read wiring schematics.
4. Completed Louisiana Coast Guard Boaters Safety course, or must complete course within 90 days after hire date.

**Prior work experience whether it be the minimum qualifications or the minimum and the highly preferred criteria, MUST be reflected in the submitted resume at the time of application in order to be vetted for eligibility.
