We are currently accepting applications for Skilled Laborers for a wastewater facility construction project in Burkeville, VA. Candidates must have at least 3-5 years of experience working on construction projects. Must have own transportation, be highly motivated, and willing to travel. Drug screen, physical and criminal background check is required of successful candidates.

Skilled Laborers work under the supervision of skilled tradespeople such as carpenters, millwrights, and pipefitters. Through their experience, they have the abilities and skills greater than a general laborer but are not yet proficient enough to be considered skilled tradesperson. They typically perform duties listed below in an assisting role, but sometimes on their own.

• -Rigging and handling of heavy loads
• -Installation of interior Ductile Iron Pipe and supports
• -Installation of interior PVC pipe and supports
• -Fitting of copper and steel pipe
• -Pipe Testing
• -Construction of concrete formwork
• -Placement of reinforcing steel
• -Placing & finishing concrete
• -Stripping of concrete formwork
• -Rough carpentry such as building temporary wooden structures
• -Finish carpentry such as the installation of casework
• -Use of basic items of operated equipment such as small backhoes, forklifts, and aerial lifts
• -Site and trench excavation & backfill
• -Laying of yard pipe
• -Surveying
• -Demolition
• -Unloading and storing of materials
