The Skateboard Coach/Zone Coach is an essential member of Woodward Park City's Progression team. The successful applicant motivates and educates our guests in a variety of environments and surfaces (outdoor, indoor, airbags, and foam pit). They are responsible for teaching all ages, ability levels, and creating proper skill progressions based on ability. This includes progressions in the Woodward Hub and out on the Mountain Parks. Coaches may also have basic expertise in one or more of the following sports: Trampolining/Tumbling, Parkour, Mountain Biking, Scootering, and BMX.

Prerequisites:
To meet our commitment to deliver a safe and positive experience to our younger guests, we require the following as a condition of employment:
  • Two verifiable references
  • Criminal Background Check
  • Verification of all prior employment listed in your application
  • National Sex Offender Registry screen
Requirements:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Teach beginner to advanced skateboard lessons for all ages.
  • Teach group and private lessons, classes, day camps, and special events
  • Inform, provide, and enforce all safety rules and policies including wearing helmets, PARK SMART, etc.
  • Proactively engage with all participants at all times
  • Attend coaching clinics, additional trainings, and possibly lead clinics of your area of expertise
  • Set a positive example and be a role model
  • Help maintain the cleanliness and functionality of all Woodward Park City sport facilities
  • Other duties as assigned
Preferred Skills
  • Understanding of skateboard and action sport tricks, progressions, and terminology
  • Experience working with children, teens, and adults
  • Must have high-school diploma or equivalent
  • First Aid/CPR Certification preferred
  • Proven ability to collaborate well across functions and departments, to work as part of a team, and to lead teams in achieving shared goals.
Basic Requirements
  • A valid driver's license is required.
  • Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50lbs.
  • Passionate about mountain biking, skateboarding, parkour, and action sports!
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods
  • Must be comfortable working in an indoor and outdoor all-season environment
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and evenings
