We currently have an opportunity for a Site Manager to run our facility in Fargo, ND. In this role, you will be the face of EMR to local customers and help drive operational excellence. You will lead, develop and manage an experienced crew and oversee safety, receiving, weighing, production, inventory control, quality control and shipping of materials. You will bring an understanding of the importance of purchase, flow and storage of scrap inventory at this site. In this role, you will report to our regional general manager.
How you’ll contribute at EMR USA…
- Encourage a safe working environment by ensuring adherence to safety policies and practices
- Work to create an excellent experience for customers and employees while minimizing costs and maximizing volume and margin at the facility
- Oversee preventative checks, maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities
- Schedule transportation and trucking
- Ensure accuracy of stock through a) leading periodic stock takes, b) proper input of information into scale operating system, and c) daily review of stock levels and associated costing
- Make certain that daily inspections of all equipment are completed by appropriate personnel in a timely manner and according to specifications. Align equipment repairs with production schedules to minimize downtime.
- Manage accurate and timely input of information into proprietary software programs
- Identify opportunities for operational improvements
- Oversee work product of third party contractors
- Maintain clean, safe and organized work areas for customers and employees
- Ensure compliance with city, county, state, and federal regulations
- Analyze data, set goals, make recommendations and perform other duties as directed by Supervisor
What you’ll bring to our team…
- Hands-on management/supervisory experience of daily operations, especially in an industrial environment
- Experience in the recycling or demolition industry, with knowledge of scrap metal commodities
- Ability to build and maintain working relationships with customers
- Experience leading a team and committed to developing employees in job performance, safety and teamwork
- Excel skills, and the ability to learn our proprietary software
- Ability to work independently, without constant supervision; possesses excellent time management skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
Some additional information…
Work is generally performed outdoors in all weather elements such as hot, cold, rain and/or snow. Personal protective equipment is required, and will be supplied by EMR USA. Working hours may vary, and evening or weekend work will likely be needed.
