POSITION FUNCTION: The Site Manager position supervises the activities of program staff at an assigned site(s). This includes direct supervising of all Program Coordinators, Family Coaches, and other key staff. Work includes providing consultation, training and direction to staff engaged in performing a variety of outreach, family action planning, referral, placement, resource development and data entry.
Educational and Experience
Completion of a bachelor’s degree program in a Human Service or Public Administration discipline from an accredited college or university preferred; and/or at least 5-7 years of progressive supervisory work experience that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties listed in the job description or a combination of college course work and previous work-related experience.
Minimum of 4 years management experience in a public or not-for-profit sector organization required; human services experience a plus. Commensurate private sector experience will be considered.
Essential Functions: Position Requirements
  • Provide overall management and supervision to designated program and personnel.
  • Maintains program oversight over the program’s overall activities.
  • Provides detailed statistical and narrative reports to the Program Director.
  • Attends and ensures meetings with partners in FamilyWorks including Local Advisory Council, Relocation Specialists, Housing Counselors, CHA Property Managers, etc.
  • Completes reports for funding agency monthly. Ensures all data is entered into the FamilyWorks database daily.
  • Identifies problems and develops in conjunction with staff and/or the Program Director and develops and implements immediate corrective action plans.
  • Monitor all Case Management and outreach activities.
  • Establishes and implements a system of internal quality management tracking and monitoring.
  • Conduct Performance Reviews
Essential Responsibilities: Workplace attendance and participation
  • Attend regularly; dependable coming to work as scheduled.

  • Attend and participate in required meetings (i.e., all‐agency meetings, department/program meetings, supervisor meetings, etc.)
  • Successfully complete all in‐service training required for the position within timelines and participate in other training, as assigned.
  • Manage work time to meet needs of internal and external customers, stakeholders and individuals receiving services,
  • Expands knowledge of departmental/agency operations
  • Participates in performance review and personal/professional growth.

  • Supervisory methods and techniques, the principles, practices and policies of management principles, practices and procedures for program planning and evaluation within the respective area of specialization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (written and oral) and project a professional image when giving and taking information in writing, in person, and over the phone.
  • Must be able to work in an independent manner.
  • Ability to take initiative and prioritize tasks; good time-management, problem-prevention, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail.

  • Supports agency efforts in conducting program evaluations.
  • Supports accreditation and regulatory standards.

Work Environment:
The primary work environment is an office, but may on occasion be outside the office. The noise level will vary depending on the location. External vehicles, office equipment, telephone and conversations produce noise.

The employee may be required to work in or visit offices in the city of Chicago and suburbs and must be able to transport himself/herself to various locations. May require travel to areas that may be unfamiliar.
Physical Requirements:
May be subject to a drug analysis.
Safety Requirements:
Prior to first day of work, must complete a criminal background and sex offender clearance.
On an ongoing, random basis, DCFS, Illinois State Police and/or FBI conduct background checks.
Equipment Used:
Employee will generally use the telephone, computer, calculator, copier, overhead projector, paper shredder, paper cutter, and filing systems.
Supervision:
Direction received from the Program Director. Supervises all program coordinators, Family Coaches, and other key staff.
