Short Order Cook (Weekdays) Job at Rosas Cafe & Bakery
We are looking for an experienced and dependable Short Order Cook who can handle all aspects of food preparation in a small family-owned café bakery in East Hartford, CT.
Job duties include:
- Preparing café menu items, including breakfast and lunch sandwiches to customer orders.
- Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to specifications and on time.
- Performing food preparation tasks, such as slicing up meats and vegetables, preparing salads, etc.
- Assisting management in conducting inventory.
- Rotating food and stamping the time and date on the food in the coolers.
- Cleaning food preparation equipment and areas.
Requirements:
- Experience as a short order cook or line cook in a fast-paced café/restaurant/diner setting.
- Experience in food preparation and sanitation.
- The ability to multi-task and work quickly and efficiently.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to be part of a team.
- ServSafe certification preferred but not required.
The schedule will be Tuesday-Friday 6:30am-2:30pm. Pay is $18/hour for the first 90 days, after 90 days pay goes to $19/hour.
