The Shipping / Warehouse / Packaging Supervisor will be responsible for monitoring the goods and services, ensuring its quality and quantity before packaging, finished goods warehouse storage and shipment processing to avoid delays and possible customer complaints. The Shipping / Warehouse / Packaging Supervisor manages the shipment schedule, including verification of the location and determining correct charges. They also keep track of the incoming and outgoing deliveries by maintaining an organized record in the company's database. The Shipping / Warehouse /Packaging supervisor must have excellent communication and leadership skills, especially on handling customers' concerns, conducting item replacements, and overseeing the warehouse staff to meet maximum productivity goals.

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated quick learner, with a bias for action. The person must be able to work collaboratively in a team environment, to ensure a culture of success is maintained.

Primary Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• 
  Prioritizes outbound shipments according to customer requirements
• Direct supervision of Shipping, Warehouse and Packaging Clerks and Leads
• Oversees quality inspection of all outbound shipments
• Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in packaging products and materials for storage and shipment. Studies production order to ascertain type and quantity of product, containers to be used, and other packaging requirements.
• Inspects products prior to packaging and returns rejected products to production departments
• Observes packaging operations and inspects containers to verify conformance to specifications.
• Starts, adjusts, and repairs packaging machinery, or notifies maintenance department.
• Trains workers in operation of equipment.
• Studies production order to ascertain type and quantity of product, containers to be used, and other packaging requirements.
• Inspects products prior to packaging and returns rejected products to production departments.
• Observes packaging operations and inspects containers to verify conformance to specifications.
• Focus on Quality and targets Zero Error Rates
• Assist with coordination of truck routes (drop off and pick up times)
• Supervises employees engaged in verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and in preparing items for shipment
• Ensure safety certification is current for all team members
• Arrange warehousing and transportation of product to customer
• Conduct physical inspections of assigned work area/equipment
• Supervise the activities of shipping / packaging personnel to maintain a smooth flow of work
• Ensure production schedules are attained daily while meeting safety, cost and quality objectives
• Engages with lean manufacturing to implement improvements and improve processes

Required Skills:

• Conflict resolution and the ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectively
• Strong knowledge of Shipping, Warehousing and Packaging procedures

Required Experience / Education:

• 1-3 Years’ experience in a transportation, warehouse or distribution environment preferred
• 3+ years of supervisory experience

Preferred Experience / Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, business or relevant field or equivalent work experience
• Prior experience in Manufacturing preferred
