We patrol all of Barton County, enforce all laws, to include traffic control, investigate crime scenes and vehicle accidents. Deputies are required to hold a high school diploma or GED and the Sheriff prefers one (1) year law enforcement experiences. You’ll receiving training to help you obtain the Law Enforcement Training Center certification within first year of employment. Deputies work shifts, must have no felony or Class A misdemeanor convictions and a valid Kansas driver's license. You’ll also need to pass both a drug screen and pre-employment physical assessment.
