Shelter Veterinarian - Leader - Superhero Wanted!
We are seeking a Veterinarian with a minimum of 3+ years' experience, or equivalent, in a shelter setting. This individual will need to possess strong leadership and communication skills. The qualified individual should be proficient in general practice including spays, neuters, soft tissue surgery and dentistry. Our veterinarian team is focused on delivering the highest level of care to our patients. In ensuring care you will be expected to maintain current on appropriate licensing and insurance requirements for practice. As a veterinarian onsite, you will have our state-of-the-art medical facility with in-house equipment at your disposal to properly perform the needs of patients. Working with us, you will also be supported each day by a driven and productive staff.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITES FOR SHELTER VETERINARIAN:
As the Veterinarian, you will oversee our RVT & Vet Assistant staff and administrative support staff within the shelter. Communicating and disseminating appropriate medical policy, standards, and training is conducive to your success. We love our amazing staff, so our candidate will be responsible for maintaining a positive and encouraging environment.
Other responsibilities:
- Practice all medical protocols under strict safety standards and correct any lazy or disjointed practices among yourself or others immediately
- Have an authoritative presence and make sound business decisions with urgency
- Proven time management skills and balancing multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Solutions/results oriented and passionate about meeting individual and team goals
- Current CA State Licensed DVM
