Rotation: 3x3 or as assigned

Reports to: Operations Manager/Projects Manager

Purpose of Position:

The Sheet Metal Worker will fabricate, build, and install various types of metal structures and equipment for facility maintenance and installation programs.

Educational Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D

Experience and Background:

  • Successful completion of an apprenticeship preferred.
  • Certification preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of the Greater Prudhoe Bay Oilfield preferred.
  • Manual dexterity with excellent balance to work on scaffolding, ladders, etc.
  • Conscientious with great attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills, ability to speak, read and write English.

Essential Functions:

  • Consults blueprints, work orders, and/or schematics to safely construct specified structure; develops additional sketches if needed.
  • Selects appropriate material for each job based on the desired or necessary strength.
  • Cuts, bends, and shapes sheet metal to required dimensions.
  • Measures, cuts, and welds pieces together according to specifications, blueprints, or directions.
  • Connects pieces or secures seams by riveting, rolling, soldering, or using steel screws.
  • Performs assigned work on assembly lines such as punching holes for screws or bending gutters.
  • Uses appropriate machinery and software applications to complete assigned jobs.
  • Coordinates required shutdowns and startups of equipment with other departments after sheet metal installation.
  • Develops and maintains records for projects and repairs.
  • Maintains clean and orderly work space.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport and strong working relationships with co-workers and client representatives.
  • Comply with all guidelines, policies and procedures established by ICE Services while on shift, on call or attending training.
  • Promote safe work practices; follow company and client safety policies.
  • Demonstrate adherence to established safety policies and procedures and accept accountability for safe work practices.
  • Ability to lift & carry 50 pounds on regular basis, routine walking, standing, bending. There is a lack of immediate access to critical medical services, as well as urban community services.
  • Demonstrate support for the company's environmental management system.
  • Maintain 100% "Safety Standards and Accountability" in all areas of mandatory/regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Certificates, Licenses, or other Requirements:

  • Driver’s license & clean driving record required.
  • North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) Card– preferred, not required
  • Must pass a pre-hire drug test, breath alcohol test, occupational fit for duty test, computer-based testing and background check.
  • Must be able to work 12 hours per day, as required.
