JOB TITLE: Setup Technician

STARTING PAY: $16-$18, based on experience and/or certification.

JOB SUMMARY: The Set-Up Technician is responsible for setting up and operating all machinery in an assigned department. These machines include CNC Benders, Presses, Table Benders, Drills, and Cold Heading Machines.

DUTIES:

• Set up and operate listed machinery.
• Determine customer component specific requirements prior to machine setup by reading and interpreting supplied drawings and other supporting materials.
• Determine equipment setup parameters and locate and appropriate fixtures and dies prior to setting up equipment.
• Utilize checking fixture and other standard measuring equipment properly, including height gauge, calipers, radius gauges, pin gauges, rulers, and more.
• Inspect parts for compliance with customer specifications and ensure the efficient running and safe operation of production equipment and machinery.
• Adjust machines during production runs to ensure the parts produced continue to meet quality standards.
• Perform troubleshooting to rectify dimensional or tolerance issues, as needed.
• Perform preventative maintenance on machines, as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent (Required)
• Associate degree or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical school; 6 months to one year of related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of the above education and experience (Preferred)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to stand, walk, and sit, as well as occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds – with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.
• Occasional exposure to vibration.
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in all units of measurement.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
