We are a growing team based in Orlando, developing world leading game-based military simulations for major NATO powers and their allies. BAE Systems’ wholly owned subsidiary, Bohemia Interactive Simulation (BISim) is seeking a Senior Vice President of US Sales. Reporting directly to the President of BISim, this executive will be responsible for leading and significantly expanding the US sales activities for a software product business selling both direct to government as well as through industry partners. Opportunities will span across the defense wargaming, defense mission training, geospatial and broader defense modeling & simulation markets.
We are seeking an entrepreneurial sales leader with a proven track record of building robust and predictable pipelines in defense mission training and modeling & simulation environments. Experience in Navy, Air Force, Intelligence community, is a plus. As a senior leader for the business, the SVP of US Software Sales will drive the organization’s strategic growth objectives by developing and refining an understanding of customers’ most important needs and creating/leading winning capture strategies. With responsibility for a staff of sales professionals serving a diverse market space and customer set, the selected individual will be held accountable for the team’s identification, qualification and capture of software license opportunities as well as the generation of qualified pipeline growth necessary to meet or exceed the business unit’s forecast and plan. In addition, this individual will plan and recommend marketing promotional strategies to achieve maximum customer and market penetration and to drive tactical and strategic growth. The position will require 75% travel including to home office (Orlando FL) and weekly travel to Customer locations.
Specific responsibilities include:
Grow the opportunity pipeline and close on the sales targets for BISim, to include existing as well as
adjacent markets/customers, through diligent and timely identification/qualification of new business
opportunities by leveraging current technologies, customer intimacies, and inter-company collaboration
- Develop and execute strategic and tactical plans for the pursuit and successful capture of key
opportunities
- Lead and manage team of US sales professionals to maximize customer engagement with efficient
territory management
- Oversee major capture activities for the business area to include managing and developing a team of
capture managers in the organization
- Obtain marketing intelligence and competitive data pertaining to potential targeted pursuits, and
develop marketing strategies
- Participate in bid decisions, development of cost strategies and phase reviews
- Establish, build, and maintain customer relationships and assess competitor capabilities aligned to
specific customers
- Support creation and execution of multi-year business development strategies
- Participate in R&D and budget discussions
Required Education, Skills, Clearances:
Bachelor’s Degree in a technical, science or business-related discipline
- Minimum of 12 years of relevant Global Sales experiences
- Demonstrated success in leading and winning deals >$5M as well generating a portfolio of smaller opportunities
- Ability to identify, establish and use important customer relationships with senior level officials and
program stakeholders within defense markets including an understanding of the defense training
mission
- Demonstrated success in leading and substantially growing Defense related sales for a $20M business or business unit
- Demonstrated background in product and solution selling, developing new markets, with proven leadership from inception to fruition of a strategic campaign.
- Understanding of Shipley capture process.
- Direct and support new business development opportunities to improve the company’s business portfolio to include marketing and customer call plans
- Ability to develop, document, and execute a plan for achieving awards/growth
- Knowledge of Government contracting and current acquisition trends and customer buying behaviors
- Knowledge of competitors in the market,
- Excellent writing, communication skills with experience presenting to senior executives and customers
- Proven experience leading a diverse sales team; strong sales coaching and mentoring skills; ability to achieve results through others.
- Active security clearance or ability to reactivate quickly.
