Hearth and Home Technologies (HHT) is searching for a Senior Vice President (SVP), Stoves Business Unit to join our leadership team in Lakeville, MN. The Stoves Business Unit is one of four business units within Hearth & Home Technologies (HHT) family of brands. The structure of our business units allows us to develop and market products with a laser focus on end-consumer needs. HHT Stove brands have a history of providing dependable heating appliances across a diverse set of fuel types that are easy to operate and low maintenance.

The SVP will cast a strategic vision for the business unit and effectively communicate and lead the organization to achieve growth targets. As a member of the senior leadership team and reporting to the President of HHT, this individual will be a proven business leader with strong financial and operational acumen who has a history of success in leading an organization that sells into the consumer products industry. A transformational leader and strong collaborator, this person will lead a team of skilled professionals in sales, marketing, and product management.

The SVP, Stoves will possess the vision, results-orientation and interpersonal skills required to set and execute a sales and product approach that streamlines offerings and processes while delivering value to dealers and consumers. This leader will be a change agent who has challenged the status quo and infuses current organization paradigms with innovative ideas to help maintain a competitive advantage.

The successful candidate will have a track record of adeptly navigating channel conflict and developing and operationalizing strategies that generate share, revenue and profit gains. This leader must have experience in a channel-driven company as well as understand the importance of connecting with consumers to drive demand. By anticipating what is coming around the corner, this senior executive will help shape new offerings based upon market, target, and geographic insight. This SVP has experience selling a portfolio of brands, marketing to the end-user and developing materials designed to close the sale. This confident yet humble leader also has experience bringing diverse groups or siloed teams together to work more collaboratively and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create, communicate and lead the overall business unit strategy for the stove brands business unit focused on driving profitable top-line sales growth.
  • Align the organization to a consumer driven strategy and ensure that the alignment delivers commitment, enthusiasm and dedication for the company direction.
  • Actively work to coordinate sales and marketing efforts that create cohesive efforts with clear communication and buy in from the sales team and trade partners.
  • Influence and assimilate all constituents’ (Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, Trade Partners, etc.) strategic plans and tactical priorities, and execute the business unit and trade partner initiatives to achieve aggressive growth and deliver customer/consumer satisfaction.
  • Partner with key stakeholders (Sales, Marketing, Brand, Product Management) to ensure clarity and speed on business growth initiatives.
  • Generate long term relationships with key trade partners that makes them a trusted and credible partner to drive change.
  • Manage trade partner conflict with multiple brands in overlapping geography.
  • Champion a diverse and inclusive work environment.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (Master’s Degree preferred)
  • 15 + years of relevant sales experience including B2B selling and navigating a complex organization in B2B sales and account management
  • 7 or more years direct people management in a multi-disciplined team
  • Expert change agent who challenges current ways-of-working (transformation)
  • High resiliency level with good emotional awareness
  • Data driven decision maker
  • “Player/Coach” who works hard to create trusting and respectful partnerships with members (employees), dealers and customers as well as with his/her own internal team
  • Commitment to continuous learning and development
  • Demonstrated experience that exhibits exceptional all-around business acumen, expert customer strategy and development and capability strengthening in B2B environments
  • Strong financial acumen to manage budgets, margins, and understanding of trade partner profitability
  • Strong critical thinker with demonstrated strategic and problem-solving skills
  • Dealer network experience and an understanding of the two-step selling process
  • Experience simplifying businesses to minimize channel conflict and ensure the right product is delivered to the right dealer/consumer at the right time in the right way
  • Demonstrated experience creating sales strategies based on market and customer insight with the ability to influence alignment throughout an organization
  • Demonstrated success in member development, training, and succession planning
  • Prior matrix organization experience
