Salary: $86,848 - $117,956

Position Summary:
COTA's Senior Technical Training Manager, Maintenance performs highly responsible supervisory work leading and managing multiple aspects of the training program supporting the Vehicle Maintenance and Facility Maintenance areas. This includes overseeing all Learning and Development programs for both Facilities and Maintenance personnel. This position will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the overall performance levels of the Maintenance Learning and Development Department, as well as, leading new training initiatives.
Performs duties in alignment with the 2019-2024 COTA Strategic Plan and in support of the organization's vision To Move Every Life Forward.
This Position is Responsible For:
- Manages, implements and coordinates learning and development activities for the Vehicle and Facility Maintenance areas. This includes contract development with training providers, development of activities in support of corporate vision and strategic imperatives; workforce education in the Maintenance programs, establishment of concrete communication channels; development of cross-functional work teams and task forces, conducts team building workshops, etc.;
- Manages the coordination of the VM Apprenticeship Program and ensures training modules align with the Technician levels in the program; monitors tracking and enrollment for the program; partners with the VM management to ensure technicians are in enrolled in training courses; participates in the ATP committee meetings; partners with the Labor Relations team to ensure processes and procedures in the ATP are in line with the contract.
- Manages and coaches a team of Learning and Development Maintenance and Technical Trainers; and,
- Oversees the orientation sessions and on-the-job training for new hires and the ongoing technical training for Vehicle/ Facility Maintenance.
- Coach Trainer performance and the effectiveness of training programs, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Partner with management to identify training needs based on projected production processes, changes, and other factors.
- Oversees the Vehicle Maintenance Apprenticeship Program's training, processes and supporting materials. Prepares presentations, reviews, evaluates, analyzes and monitors maintenance training programs and budget;
- Manage all Maintenance Learning and Development projects and programs, including the high school internship program and employee apprenticeship program.
- Continuously innovate training methods and tools integrating emerging best practices to deliver creative and compelling training experiences.
- Oversees the development of internal maintenance subject matter experts (SME) based on knowledge, skills and expertise and provides them with the opportunity to share information, ideas, and concerns; maintains contact with department trainers to discuss the delivery of material; and,
- Coordinates training provided by OEM and component manufacturers; monitors quantity and quality of the training.
At Minimum You'll Need:
- Requires a Bachelor's Degree in related field and six (6) years progressive experience in training and employee development, including management of such function; Experience in Vehicle Maintenance or Facility Maintenance preferred; an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- ASE Master Certification preferred.
