The objective of the role is to evolve and maintain the company’s Treasury function. This role will be responsible for building and managing the Treasury team. The position will interact extensively with Legal, Finance, Development, Internal audit, and our banking partners. Ensure continuous improvement of the balance sheet and cash flow with primary responsibility for optimizing the company’s cash and capital market resources including effective banking and cash management, managing the debt/term loans, management of risks related to foreign exchange, interest rates and liquidity.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Treasury Management

  • Managing daily cash processes.
  • Cash management across entities.
  • Optimizing interest income and managing interest expense.
  • Ownership of the control procedures for cash movement, real time liquidity management/reporting up and down the organization.
  • Formulating, implementing and successfully maintaining investment policies, including regularly reviewing and updating risk parameters.
  • Maintain, improve forecasting methods for cash management, foreign exchange and investing.
  • Develop contextual understanding of the company’s business operations and strategy to effectively articulate the operations of the company.
  • Facilitate the forecasting and planning for amounts and sources of funds required to meet outstanding and planned commitments.
  • Partner with corporate development to ensure appropriate financing and risk mitigation is in place for capital used in acquiring assets. Maintain the Capital Commitments schedules which are a key input into the long-range planning & cash flow model maintained by FP&A.
  • Act in a lead role in capital structure, debt management, and refinancing options to ensure the most efficient use of the company’s debt capacity.

Risk Management

  • Establish and maintain minimum levels of liquidity in entity bank accounts, develop, and update internal control measures with respect to cash and investments.
  • Provide regular reports to senior management regarding cash positions, capital commitments and exposure to risk.
  • Provide the CFO with analyses regarding financing and interest rate hedging strategies that can be presented to the CEO and the Board of Directors
  • Ensure compliance with relevant internal and external policies. Stay abreast of changes to government/agency policies/regulations affecting treasury activities (e.g., new banking regulations related to KYC’s, sanctions, reporting requirements, etc.)
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with the Company’s Credit Agreement
  • Overseeing Foreign Exchange risk management and respective hedging strategies
  • Manage interest rate risk by evaluating the company’s debt management and interest hedging strategy on a regular basis and proposing changes to hedge ratios to mitigate risks associated with interest rates.

Banking and Account Management

  • You will own relationships with Banks and other depository institutions, credit counterparties, term loan lenders and compliance organizations, monitor and update policies regarding opening and maintaining bank accounts under the Four Seasons group of companies as well as develop and implement policies for establishing banking operations in local entities managed by hotel finance directors around the world.

Refinancing and Capital Structure

  • You will be a valued contributor to any Debt financing/refinancing or Capital Markets transactions by providing insight on capital markets and capital structure as well as liaising with Banks regarding market opportunities as well as credit rating agencies (Standard & Poors, Moody’s) regarding any updates or changes to the Company’s credit ratings.

Education and/or Experience

  • A University degree in Business or Finance; a CTP, MBA, CFA, or CPA designation is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years' experience working in a Finance/Accounting capacity.
  • 3-5 Years’ experience within a Treasury function and at least 2 years as a treasury lead.
  • Experience managing corporate treasury operations in a global context across multiple subsidiaries and regions.
  • Experience with planning, accounting or financial reporting is an asset.
  • Experience with ERP systems is beneficial (Dynamics, Oracle, SAP, OneStream)
  • Experience with Treasury/Banking platforms.
  • Forecasting experience
