Senior Technical Procurement Manager Job at Sun Tribe
JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Technical Procurement Manager is responsible for executing the purchase process for major PV equipment RFQ through purchase order/contract execution, identifying qualified vendors and appropriate technologies, maintaining a database of current suppliers and their pre-qualification, as well as monitoring supplier performance. The Senior Technical Procurement Manager will manage relationships with key suppliers that support the overall strategic objectives of the organization and ensure reliable support and supply of materials to projects. Designated scopes are focused on PV Balance of Systems and will include but are not limited to: Inverters, SCADA, MV electrical equipment, and/or LV Balance of Systems materials.
TEAM RELATIONSHIPS
The Senior Technical Procurement Manager position reports directly to the Director, Supply Chain and works closely with other key staff, including Project Engineers, Project Managers and Senior Pre-Construction Manager.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Execute technical Procurement process for designated scopes of PV Balance of System equipment
- Develop and manage supplier relationships
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions for designated scopes of materials
- Contribute to development of overall Procurement team strategies to support organizational goals
- Manage Inventory of any Sun Tribe owned inventory
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required, concentration in engineering, supply chain management, sustainability or construction management preferred
- Minimum 4 years of relevant procurement within the renewable energy, energy, electrical, or construction industry, however transferable experience within another industry will be considered
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in project management, purchasing and accounting software platforms
- Must be able to read and understand technical drawings and specifications and can
communicate with suppliers regarding design needs of solar projects - Experience in negotiating pricing and commercial terms with suppliers
- Ability to navigate the technical procurement process from specification definition
through RFP to contract execution and delivery
