Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is looking for you to join our team as a Systems Engineering Manager 2.
What You’ll get to Do:
The Engineering Manager 2 will manage an on-site team providing varied engineering support from Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs, CO. Functional Manager responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Manage a team of direct reports
- Performing functional manager roles and responsibilities (i.e. staffing, recruiting, timecard approval, performance reviews, etc.)
- Maintain high levels of engagement among their own team
- Support Career Development of current talent among team members
- Interact with internal program leadership and customers on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and provide guidance and oversight to the employees
The successful candidate must be entrepreneurial, a self-starter and have the ability to challenge the status quo. This individual must be customer-focused with proven leadership and excellent communication skills as well as a leader in change management.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in leadership and/or in an engineering domain; Master’s degree with a minimum of 3 years of experience; or PhD with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in an engineering domain to include Systems, Software, Network, Modelling and Simulation, and AI/Machine Learning
- Prior technical leadership (SW lead, test lead, product owner, scrum master, etc.)
- Experience making hiring decisions
- Experience with conducting disciplinary actions
- Domain experience in Missile Defense, Radars, Space Systems
- Active Secret clearance
- Familiarity with Systems or Software Engineering processes and products
- Outstanding Communication skills, both verbally and written
- Experience working in an Agile development environment with Continuous Integration
