Senior Structural Engineer (PE) - (Hybrid/Flexible Schedule)

Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our team. As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, evaluating, and inspecting steel structures, retaining walls and drainage structures for a wide variety of new build and renovation projects for commercial and medical facility projects. You will be working in a collaborative team environment, alongside architects, mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, structural engineers, designers, and drafters.
Responsibilities
- Design, evaluate, and/or inspect retaining walls and drainage structures for a wide variety of medical projects.
- Have a strong working knowledge of building and material codes and how to effectively apply them.
- Knowledge and use of computer design and graphics software, including the use of AutoDesk Revit to produce Construction Documents.
- Completes thorough project documentation including narratives, reports, calculations, and drawings.
- Provides quality-control check of work produced.
- Coordinates structural design with work of other disciplines.
- Provides project construction administration support including shop drawing review, responses to Requests for Information (RFIs), and field observations.
- Attends technical training seminars when opportunity is provided.
- Serves as a mentor and resource for less experienced staff regarding design techniques, software, and code questions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required, Structural Engineer (SE) preferred.
- 8+ years of related experience.
- Proficiency in structural analysis software i.e. RISA Suite.
- Experience with Seismic Engineering & Assessments.
- Federal agency experience.
- Experience with Revit.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-motivated, able to perform and solve problems independently, and take the initiative to make sound decisions with minimal oversight.
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
